Betty Maxine Cheatham
Betty Maxine Cheatham, of Muskogee, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016 in Tulsa, OK. Betty was born in Plainview, TX on November 17, 1949, the daughter of Max Paul Bontke and Betty Lou Weige Wilkins. She married Bobby Dale Cheatham on July 27, 1977 in Dumas, TX.
Betty was a talented musician. She played multiple instruments but her favorite was the piano. She played up until just before her passing. She loved animals, especially dogs. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her three children Jimmy Anderson and wife Dina of Muskogee, Sherman Cheatham and fiancé Lori of Muskogee, and Stacy Oakes of Jenks, OK; three grandchildren Jordan Anderson of Oklahoma City, OK, Logan Oakes of Jenks, and Bo Cheatham of Muskogee; two great grandchildren; one brother Ronnie Bontke of Copeland, KS and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Betty Maxine Cheatham will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 25 at First Assembly of God in Haskell, OK, followed by burial at Haskell City Cemetery. There will be a public viewing for Betty from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, October 24 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home, 2801 Chandler Rd. in Muskogee.
