Claud P. Harris
Claud Philo Harris, 84, of Brushy Mountain passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017, in Muskogee, OK.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, OK, with Pastor Mark Haile officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Harris, Chris Harris, Michael Daily, Chris Hammons, Josh Harris, and Josh Perry. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, OK. Visitation will be Monday, January 16, 2017 from noon to 8:00 p.m. .
Mr. Harris was born on June 22, 1932 at Brushy Mountain in Muskogee, OK, the son of Frank and Willa Mae Harris. He married Ellen Jo Hall on May 8, 1959, in Muskogee.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Joe Harris and wife, Avonda, Claude A. Harris and wife, LaTrisa; seven grandchildren, Robert Harris and wife, Angela, Brandi Hammons and husband, Chris, Tiffany Daily and husband, Michael, Chris Harris and wife, Krystal, Josh Harris and wife, Ashley, Beth Perry and husband, Josh, and Jacie Harris; nine great-grandchildren, Emily, Christopher, Lance, Carlee, Kinley, Payton, Channing, Waco, and Croy; two sisters, Emily Smith and Glenda Harris; and a special friend, Mary Milligan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Jo; parents, Frank and Willa Mae; brother, James Harris; three sisters, Nellie Walker, Erma Compton, and Velma Stills Richardson.
Mr. Harris was born and lived out his life on Brushy Mountain in Muskogee. He enlisted in the U. S. Army from 1950 to 1953 and was stationed in Korea. He served in the 45th Infantry Oklahoma National Guard from 1953 to 1964.
Mr. Harris worked at and retired after 35 years from Corning Glass as a maintenance man. He was a member of Brushy Mountain Baptist Church for most of his life. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, going to auctions, and spending time with his family.
