Obituary for
Ethel L. Thomas
Ethel LaVerne was born April 18, 1935 at McClain, OK, the daughter of Earnest George and Elsie Tilda (McCoy) Fletcher and died Monday, January 23, 2017 in Tulsa, OK.
On July 5, 1949 she married Gordon Thomas. Prior to retirement she had worked at Brockway Glass, Wonder Bread, and Bacone College. Ethel LaVerne was a very generous person and a good cook. No one ever left her house hungry. Before moving to Coweta, she had lived many years in Muskogee.
Survivors include her husband, Gordon of the home; children, Karen Meadors and husband, John, Alan Thomas and wife, Betty, and Janice Thomas; grandchildren, Dickie Paul Scott, Dana Renea Walker, Alan Mark Thomas Jr., Amie Deanne Thomas, Andrew King Thomas, Anthony Joe Thomas, Adam Timothy Thomas, Aaron Paul Thomas, Alicia Leanne Thomas, Brandi Ivey, Ricky Lee Sartin II, and Julie Renea Speaks; 27 great-grandchildren; brothers, Joe Fletcher and wife, Lisa, Walter Fletcher; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee with Pastor Steve Lee officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Dickie Scott, Alan Thomas Jr, Andrew Thomas, Ricky Sartin II, Anthony Thomas, Adam Thomas, and Aaron Thomas. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.
