Betty Lou (King) Taylor was born on March 18, 1930 in Muskogee, OK to Etta Mae and Orville Taylor (Pappy) King. She made Muskogee just as much her home as she did to anybody she talked to and lived there her entire life.

Betty Lou graduated from Muskogee Central High School in 1948 and became “class mom”, always organizing the class reunions and keeping her classmates well informed over the years.
She was Roundup Queen, a Woolworth Girl, loved fishing, camping, bowling, reading, watching westerns and cooking…her fried fish was mythical. She was a beautiful daughter, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and known as “Aunt Betty” to anybody that was lucky enough to know her. She was very proud of her Native American heritage and family genealogy. She was what legends are made of.
She married the love of her life, Billy Wayne Taylor on December 31, 1953. They raised two children together, Mark Kymes and Desiree Rinker. She said the proudest day of her life was having her son, Mark.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Wayne Taylor; brother, Allen Leroy (Guy) King; daughter-in-law, Marty Kymes; grandson Benjamin Kymes; and cousin, Buck Day.
Betty is survived by: son, Mark Kymes (fiancé Janice Keegan); daughter, Desiree Rinker; grandchildren, Matthew (wife Holly), Mason and Madison (wife Erin) Kymes; great-grandchildren, Mallory and Matilda Kymes; cousin, Martin Day (wife Joyce); sister-in-law, Peggy King; brother-in-law, John Taylor (wife Kathryn); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark, Matt, Mason and Madison Kymes, John Taylor and Charlie Ayers. Honorary pallbearers are Martin Day, Gayla Kizzia and Annie Darstein.
The family wishes to thank St. Francis Hospital, Muskogee and Tulsa for their loving care and Eastern Heights Baptist Church where Betty attended faithfully.
