Obituary for
Mildred Mabel Mannon
Mildred Mabel (Hornback) Mannon left this life to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the age of 92. She was born November 14, 1925 in Yellow Hammer Community in Braggs, OK, to John Hornback and Eva (Dishman) Hornback.
Mildred met and married Roy Mannon on June 30, 1941 in Fort Smith, AR. Granny Mitt or Aunt Mitt, as she was known by many, worked as a cook at Jolly Rogers Restaurant in Gore, OK, for 31 years. She will be remembered for her healing prayers and her love for others. She loved to travel with her son, Tommy, and his wife, Joyce, and her good friend, Jenny. She had traveled to numerous places including Mexico and Canada.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Hornback; her loving son, Harlon Mannon; husband of 49 years, Roy Mannon; four brothers, Ben Hornback, Pete Hornback, Clinton Hornback, Johnny Hornack; four sisters, Birdie Dailey, Arnie Skaggs, Darlene Janes, and Betty Brown. Survivors include her sister, Molly Dobson and husband, Earl; two sons, Tommy Mannon and wife, Joyce, of Gore, OK, Jimmy Mannon and wife, Ruby, of Vian, OK; daughter, Judy Keathley and husband, Mike, of Gore; daughter-in-law, Janie Mannon of Gore; seven grandchildren, Brent Mannon, Chris and Lester Keathley, Tina Kahler, Tracey Moore, Shawn and Shannon Mannon; 15 great-grandchildren; and her friend, Jenny Walters.
Services for Mildred will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 at Gore Baptist Church with Paul Gould officiating. Pallbearers will be Brent Mannon, Shawn Mannon, Chris Keathley, Lester Keathley, Jeremy Kahler, and Matthew Newman. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Hornback, J. E. Dailey, Kurt Brown, Allen Hornback, Dale Hampton, Stanley Hornback, Gary Hornback, and Ryan Skaggs. Burial will be in White Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home of Muskogee.
